June 2021

I said in last months blog that we were on the hunt for a "new to us" RZR.  Looks like we found one.  We made a drive to Claremore OK. to check out a 2017 RZR 1000 XP w/ride command and of course we brought the trailer as we knew how this was going to unfold.

A short time later, we were loaded and bringing the toy back home.  I am thinking Chuck is going to have a project to keep him occupied with this little guy.  We will be adding some of the things we think are necessary to have on the RZR.  Since it will be going to Arizona Chuck is adding a horn, lighted whips, windshield and doing a complete maintenance on it. This will make it ready to go when we get to its new home.   I will be cleaning it....LOL.  The RZR has a custom roll cage and roof on it.  It needs some TLC in the paint department.

I am hear to tell you when we finish detailing this little gem, it will look brand new.  Then we can take it to Yuma and get it all dirty!  That's what they are for.  We look forward to riding it there.

June 11th is our granddaughters birthday.  How is in the world could this sweet girl be 13 yrs. old!  I know grandparents brag about their grands, but truly she is a keeper.  Cooper is such a fun and vivacious young lady.

Cooper had a birthday party with some of her friends and they went to a local Italian Restaurant for lunch on June 10th, the day before her actual birthday.  She asked if I would like to come along.  Of course!  I sat at the table with Anthony, Heather and Cash.  The girls had their own table.  It was so fun to watch the girls navigate through ordering their food and drinks.  I think they all had a blast.  After lunch we went back to Coopers house to open gifts and have cake.  This girl and her mom are all about cakes.  Coopers birthday cake was not only beautiful, but oh so delicious.  So glad Cooper invited me to attend her private party!

Cooper is officially 13.  The family all met at The Wedge in downtown Oklahoma City.  This has always been one of Coopers favorite places to eat.  It was so nice to see Heather's side of the family this evening.  We really enjoyed getting out and celebrating Cooper's special day.

June16th

I finally got around to going to have lunch with my high school friend Dee today.  It was absolutely an overdue visit.  We got to talk and spend some much needed time together.  Heck I even cut her hair for her.  She assures me she loves the cut.  I hope she isn't telling me that just to make me feel good!

Our neighbor rented an Aerial Lift and we paid some on it so we would be able to do some much needed tree trimming at our place.  The past few ice storms have really left a lot of hanging dead limbs in our trees.  They are very high up so there was no other way to get them down without some heavy equipment.  Scott showed Chuck how to operate the lift and before you know it Chuck was busy going up and down the trees removing the unwanted limbs.

That was all well and good, but then the fun begins.  Hauling all the limbs to the side of the yard so they can be picked up on Big Trash day.  That  was an undertaking of its own.  Chuck was so diligent with his work, and I assisted when I could.  We made three very large piles of limbs once everything was out of the yard.  The one day proved plenty for us!  Yes, some dead limbs were still up in the trees, but as the days went on and we got some heavy winds, we actually had more fall.  So glad to get the limbs somewhat cleaned up.  Also glad the rains had let up and we actually had a good day to do our work!

Fathers Day 2021.  Mother, Louie, Anthony and his family came out to the house for lunch.  It was fun having everyone together again.  Yes, we just saw them last week, but this just seems like how things were before the pandemic disrupted our lives.  I failed to get the picture of Louie, Chuck, Anthony and Cash this year.  I did finally remember to get one of Louie and Chuck. I am so thankful to have my sweet 95 yr old Step dad in my life.  He really is a gem! Happy Fathers Day to Chuck, Louie and Anthony!! You guys are the best.

As I stated at the beginning of this months blog, Chuck has been really busy working on the RZR.  He has Amazon and UPS delivering pretty much daily. This bad boy is coming together quite nicely.  Chuck has been in contact with some friends of his and looks like we are going to get the roll cage and roof sand blasted and powder coated.  Things are coming together!

June is over....Lets dig into July.
