June 2022

June starts with a nice visit from a couple of our Yuma friends.

They just didn't get to stay long enough to get the full Oklahoma tour!

The kids are living it large in Florida.  So glad they get to have such a fun vacation!

Susie made a return trip after she came back from her get away and we convinced her to stay with us and we could take her to the airport the next day.  She got to experience "The Lokal" restaurant in Yukon.  Nothing like some fried deviled eggs to start the dinner off!  So glad we got another day to spend with her.

Our "Princess of Quite A Lot" had her 14th birthday this month. Where does the time go!!!  So proud of this girl.  She is really a remarkable young lady.

Beautiful Oklahoma sunset and some Andy's Frozen Custard with a couple of great peeps! We were making our final plans for our trip to Colorado that will happen really soon!

Remember the lot across the street from our place in Yuma....this is what is happening while we are gone!

Colorado bound.  Heading to Westcliffe!

Our spot for the next few days!

We are in Amish Country.

Bronco is enjoying the smells of Colorado

Diana & Chris are parked across the street from us!

Mexican Restaurant in Salida, CO had a neat skull!

Bronco held down the back of the Jeep and Zoey sat between Diana & I

We took the Jeeps out to explore some dispersed camping areas.  They were so dispersed we would not be able to get our RV's back in there....so dispersed camping is not going to work for us.

We attended an Amish Auction.  Only thing we bought was some breakfast....LOL....Chuck enjoyed the biscuits and gravy!

We took a little morning trip to the town of Rye, CO as we had been told it was worth the trip to see Bishop Castle.  I am here to say it was so worth the little drive.  If you want to know more about it I have added this link Bishop Castle .....its worth the read for sure.

The castle was absolutely amazing.  We even spoke with Mr. Bishop.
He is a very frail old man that isn't happy as his family has stopped him from working on his masterpiece.  He just sits and watches all the visitors comment about his castle.

We were getting ready to go to brunch and I noticed a very strange weather front coming through.  I was able to catch several pictures of it.  I am sure if you live around here this is nothing but the clouds just seemed to follow the mountains.  It was quite entertaining to me.
We went for Brunch at the Alpine Lodge in Westcliffe.  It was a wonderful treat for sure.  I guess you have to know someone that knows about this gem as I don't think we would have ever found it.  Tray and Tracy had made reservations for our little group and we all couldn't say enough good things about this place.  So glad we got to experience it.

Nothing like starting your Monday off with a text from a neighbor (Susie) in Yuma telling you that there was some really big winds the night before and it looks like the neighbors tree has fallen on our wall and knocked it down.  Looks like Humpty Dumpty had a great fall for sure!

I notified our neighbor to the east and sent her pictures of the damage.  She asked if I knew someone to remove the tree.  I sent her information and by the next morning the mess was totally gone....well, all the tree anyway.

Time for us to leave Westcliffe and all its hospitality and start back to Oklahoma.  All the weather we had the previous day was now stalled along the route home.  We leave a beautiful morning and get to Interstate 25 and we get into some showers and just plain ole ugly weather.

Chuck being overly dramatic about the wind!

Woodward Oklahoma....final pic of trip!

BEST NEWS EVER!  Cooper officially made the Norman North Pom Squad....Proud grandparents!!!

What a fun June we have had.
The Westcliffe trip was a fun one for sure!
The wall falling wasn't fun but it has been interesting.  Work is beginning on it and should be done in a couple of weeks.
Proud of our Cooper!
